Security Checkpoint: Allowed and Prohibited Items
What you can carry through security at Tulum Airport: liquids, batteries and prohibited items.
All passengers and their carry-on bags are screened before entering the boarding area. Packing ahead of time makes the process faster.
Liquids in carry-on bags
- Each container must hold 100 ml (3.4 oz) or less.
- All containers must fit in one clear, resealable bag of no more than one liter.
- One bag per passenger.
- Medicines, baby food and special formulas are allowed in reasonable quantities for the trip; present them separately at screening.
Not allowed in carry-on bags
- Sharp objects: knives, blades, long scissors and tools.
- Weapons, replica weapons and ammunition.
- Flammable, explosive or corrosive substances.
- Bats, clubs and sporting goods that could be used to strike.
Batteries and devices
Spare lithium batteries and power banks must travel in your carry-on, never in checked luggage. E-cigarettes also go in the cabin and may not be used on board.
Airlines may apply additional rules. If in doubt about an item, ask your airline before you arrive at the airport. See also baggage.
