Traveling with Pets through Tulum Airport
Requirements for traveling with dogs and cats through Tulum Airport: airline rules and SENASICA inspection on international flights.
Each airline sets its own pet rules: whether animals travel in the cabin or in the hold, carrier size, maximum weight and fees. Book your pet’s space when you buy your ticket, since spots are limited.
Before you fly
- Confirm with your airline which breeds and sizes it accepts and any seasonal restrictions.
- Use a ventilated, secure carrier of the size required by the airline.
- Bring an up-to-date vaccination record.
- Guide and service dogs follow special rules; notify your airline in advance.
International arrivals
Mexico’s National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality (SENASICA) is present at the airport and inspects dogs and cats arriving from abroad. Before you travel, check the current pet import requirements on the SENASICA website.
The ViPort Lounge only admits guide dogs. See VIP lounges.
