Traveling with Minors through Tulum Airport
Documents children and teenagers need to fly from Tulum on domestic and international flights.
Requirements for travelers under 18 depend on whether the flight is domestic or international and who the minor is traveling with.
Domestic flights
Airlines ask for identification for the minor, such as a birth certificate, passport or school ID, according to their own policies. If the minor is traveling alone, most airlines offer a paid escort service that must be requested when booking.
International flights
- All minors need a valid passport.
- Mexican minors or minors residing in Mexico who leave the country alone or with a third party need INM’s Minor Exit Form (SAM), signed by the parents or legal guardians and certified by a notary or immigration authority.
- Check the entry requirements of your destination country.
Confirm required documents and the minimum age for unaccompanied travel with your airline before booking.
